Heritage
The Hotel Augustus is located in a prestigious and central position in the historical centre of Rome, close to Porta Pia: the famous gate from which passed the Italian soldiers to gain the Italian Unification in 1870. In addition, public transportation is an easy way to get connected to the most important monuments and places of Rome, like Fontana di Trevi or Piazza di Spagna.

One of the main architectural attractions of Rome are its villas. On the top of Via Veneto, just 10 min from the hotel, you will see the impressive Villa Borghese and its big park full of trees and garden statues, with an artificial lake.

The Villa Torlonia, began in 1806 and abandoned after 1945, is open to the public after the recent restoration works. Surrounding the villa are landscaped grounds in the English ‘picturesque’ style and in these gardens are to be found 3rd and 4th century catacombs.

If you prefer, you can contemplate the artistic splendour of other times through its churches. In Via Boncompagni you will find the church of San Patrizio in Villa Ludovisi, where Irish people celebrate their weddings here in Rome.

Museums
Our hotel is very close to the MACRO, the great Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, which offers a selection of some of the most significant expressions characterizing the Italian art scene since the 1960s, with works by Gianni Asdrubali, Giovanni Albanese or Cristiano Pintaldi.

From Belvedere Pincio, in addition to the magnificent view of the town, you can visit the National Gallery of Modern Art (with works by Goya, Renoir, Van Gogh or Monet), the Etruscan Museum and the Borghese Gallery, with baroque sculptures by Bernini.

In Piazza Fiume, a few minutes away from the hotel, you can go shopping in the famous shopping centre La Rinascente, where you will find a wide range of products.
